August/September: Getting to Know You

Hey! I hope you are enjoying you first few days of school. I thought you might want to know a little more about your new science teacher, so her a little bio on me. I was born and raised in Kinston my entire life. I went to college at UNC Chapel Hill. GO TARHEELS!!! I came back home after college and worked with Fellowship of Christian Athletes for two years before I started teaching. We have an FCA club here at school. Ask me about it! Anyway, I met a handsome redhead and have now been married almost three years. Man, are boys smelly! And we now have a precious fur-baby named Charley. He is my cuddle buddy and we love to take walks and play. If I ever have any dog hair on me, you will just have to excuse it. That kid sheds like crazy.

Some things I like to do...I love to work in my garden. It is not very big, but I enjoy growing my own food! I like all sports. I've played sports my entire life and now I get to coach softball and volleyball. My high school softball team even won the state championship my freshman year at NL. I have the ring to prove it. And my most favorite thing to do- I love to hang out with my family. I have two step-sisters and a sister in law and 5 nieces and nephews to love on. And now I have almost 100 new babies of my own that come through my classroom every day!

I live by the philosophy that we get what we give. That is to say that you will get out of my class what you put in to it. I expect you to work hard and learn a lot, but we are going to have fun doing it! Check out this pep talk from kid president to get you pumped for the school year. Let's all work together and "give the world a reason to dance."
